Randy Pausch

Via an announcement at the SIGSCE blog comes news that Randy Pausch, who you may know from his famous ‘last lecture‘ last year, has passed away. He created the Alice 3D programming environment for beginners, and there is a Randy Pausch Memorial Fund to continue its development.

For an update on Seymour Papert, creator of the Logo programming language and many other books and ideas, who was injured a year and a half ago, see “In search of a beautiful mind.”
